Folks, this reenactment will compete with the 150th Gettysburg in importance.
This event has been in the making for 2 years. The Louisiana History society, St. Bernard Parish and the Meraux Foundation have partnered to bring the reenactment of this battle to realization.
The Meraux Foundation has donated 30 acres of land 1 mile north of the actual Chalmette Battlefield and site of the original Battle of New Orleans. A 600 foot earth rampart will be constructed to indicate the American defense position. There will be plenty of room for the British and American Camps, and many extra events are being planned.
If you never attend another reenactment in your life time, go to this one. Updates will be forthcoming.
